Sauna Stewardship:
Before the sweat:
🔥Gratitude for Silky, the natural environment and all those who have come and will come to dive into this healing magic. - Laurel 🔥
The essence of this role is to provide a safe space for people to alchemize their perceptions and biochemistry with Nature.
Make sure fire is hot
(Look at temp gauge- 170-190 is good!)
Use the air control (middle lever) to either reduce (fully down) or increase airflow (fully up) (more airflow- more fire, burns fast, less airflow - burns slower)
This temperature should remain for during of all sweats, add wood/ pushes ashes to the front if this temperature dips below
Sweep / wipe out the sand
Use sauna cleaner w bucket and scrub brush
(A few drops of SAUNA CLEANER to a 1/4 to 1/2 a bucket full of fresh water)
Scrub with this solution before / after every sweat- all benches, walls where peoples back goes.
Set up the:
Coconut rugs
Altar
cubbies
salt water in foot bucket
FRESH water in the bucket for the rocks. NO OCEAN WATER. It can destroy the stove and burn people’s eyes
Make sure theres essential oil.
During the sweat:
Great guests, in a peaceful and calm way
Attune them to the environment, show them where they can put there things, refill water, ect.
Explain the expectations
Seated on a towel
Hydrate
Show them the hourglass timer
Explain cold plunge/ rinse feet before entering sauna
Attune on vibe (either sauna social or sauna sanctum)
Demonstrate the “Lyöly” & essential oils
Make sure the music is on. The speaker can be under the bottom bench by the door. Ask if they’d like music.
Check in half way through session to check temperature / and add steam /vibe check
Check in with 5 minutes left for gentle reminder to start packing when next crew arrives
Repeat all steps for next crew, add wood if needed using glove, ash scoop
For Last sweat of the night/ CLOSING:
Push ashes to the front of the wood stove, open the air vents on the Woodstove
Sweep
Scrub benches
Clean all glass windows using windex
Air out the sauna with the door open,
Consolidate:
All cleaning supplies in appropriate bin
Shake out and fold & stack coconut rugs
Stack and store on ledge of sauna
Empty & rinse the water buckets, ash scoop, stack and store in sauna
Store cushions and bins inside sauna

Sauna Build Details
Similar shape and build as the original. I LOVE the copper material you used for your past client.
The Breezeblocks/panels are 2ft width x 7ft tall. We can absolutely shorten them if need be. See photo below.
You have creative freedom in terms of interior. Except :)
1. There must be two vents one on the bottom near the stove, and the second below the top bench on the other side of Sauna.
2. Two benches with a gap between for easy cleaning. Similar to my other build! Unless You have some WILD ideas in terms of benches. :)
3. Rockwool insulation.
4. No plywood or insulation on the floor. It’s okay to have space between the planks.
5. Crystal grid in the walls along with writing mantras and desires for sweat bathers. I can do this while you’re all working! Won’t take long! Promise I’ll stay out of your way. ;)
6. The lower bench - It’d be lovely to allow it to slide to the back so that a wheelchair can fit into the sauna.
Gaurdianship is the essence of Silky Sifaka Altær. Silky Sifaka translates to Angels of the Forest. In my mind, they preserve and protect the art of playfulness, joy, and curiosity in the forest. This is what I’d like to cultivate in this next build. A space where people sweat out their roles/expectations that are diluting or stifling their jovial and curious essence.
Desired Completion Date: Build is finished by August 20th. I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a Launch party on August 25th on 124 W Park Street. AND I believe in divine timing, and trust the unfoldment.
Desired (Remaining) Budget: $5k - 6k labor. DOWN to increase that if we can get some deals on materials :) Honestly, it’d be amazing if I could finish the build in under $8k which includes any remaining parts and labor?
Lou is available as a sub contractor. He can be our welding guy if need be. He is also available to install Solar, so I’m thinking we could add the wiring during the build and then I’ll have him instal solar at some point. What do you think here? I’ve emailed you Lu’s Solar Proposal.
