Kayla Sullivan Sibilia

Registered Craniosacral Therapist, Energy + Sound Facilitator, HeartMath Mentor, and Steward to ALTÆR Sauna

Shorter BIO

Kayla Sibilia is the founder of ALTÆR Sauna, a mobile altar designed to alter perception and biochemistry through the natural arts. A Certified Sauna Master from the Deutsche Sauna Akademie in Germany and Nate Daubert @Natesauna, Kayla describes her creations as "living sculptures" that blend wellness, ecology, and artistry to create spaces for rest, storytelling, and acts of love for nature.

ALTÆR redefines the traditional spa experience, transforming public and private settings across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Each sauna is intentionally built by local craftspeople, carrying both ecological reverence and symbolic meaning. Kayla’s first sauna, Ash, was created to foster trust in the unfoldment of the human experience. Her second, Silky Sifaka "Angels of the Forest", honors the endangered lemurs of Madagascar and provides a place of rest within the community at South Shore Beach in Rhode Island. The third, Gingko, draws inspiration from the 200-million-year-old tree, symbolizing social resiliency.

For Kayla, sauna is a practice of human connection and cultural tradition. She believes a profound reverence for life emerges when people share space in nature’s contrast immersions like sauna + open water. In these moments, vulnerability feels less isolating and resilience becomes closer at hand.

Through ALTÆR, Kayla curates intentional environments for transformation. Her mission is to invite people into a deeper relationship with their bodies, communities, and the Earth, guided by the rhythms of heat, cold, silence, play, and nature. ALTÆR has been featured in VOGUE, Women’s Health, Providence Journal, Best of Rhode Island, RI Monthly, ABC, NBC, Newport Life, Discover Newport, Shou Sugi Ban House, and other publications.

Longer BIO

Kayla focuses on the body’s health and capacity for equilibrium rather than its pain. This awareness brings ease to the membranes and movement of the fluids that surround the cranium, spine, and sacrum. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes health and immunity. She specializes in working with people experiencing chronic fatigue, stress, anxiety, loss of smell and taste due to COVID-19, confusion, back pain, headaches, loneliness, cramps, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, autism, breech babies, placenta previa, TMJ, and overall nervous system regulation.

Kayla’s interest in this field began in her 20’s when she became intrigued with the realm of quantum physics and the unified energy field. In college she co-directed and co-produced a documentary called “Always Alive.” For the documentary Kayla interviewed a Lakota Native American, Roshi Buddhist Monk, Jungian Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Spiritual Mediums. Posing one thought provoking question, ‘What happens to us once our bodies die?’

She was stunned by the answer that met her - We don’t die. We are always alive. Their collective reasoning is what propelled her to begin studying and practicing in the first place. Beginning with Energy + Sound medicine with Lisa Ishwari Murphy, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Dr. Kate Klemer, Heart Focused Breathing at the HeartMath Institute, Deepak Chopra’s Brainwave Entrainment device, Quantum Physics with the Resonance Science Foundation + Nassim Haramein and Psychedelic Integration with Dr. Elizabeth Nielson and Dr. Ingmar Gorman. She found not only knowledge, but a deep passion and pulse to relate to others, to help them on their journey. To bring them back to the aliveness in that answer, the one that constantly pursues us.

Kayla is still expanding her ever growing knowledge. To this day she is continuing her studies as well as practicing in the South Coast of Massachusetts. She has facilitated Sound, Craniosacral Therapy, and hosted Sauna sessions at Internationally Award-Winning Spas, Ivy League Colleges, top rated breweries, National Parks, Land Trusts, and more.

Her ultimate mission remains the same:  to bring her clients back home to - their Body, their Spirit, and the Earth.
